Local Meat Market Serves Up Brazilian Noble Cuts and Ready-to-Cook Meat
When planning that special meal to impress your family and friends, shopping local and embracing the richness of ethnic cuisine can do the work. Mercado da Carne, a local meat and grocery market located in Danbury, offers a myriad of noble cuts and ready-to-cook meat dishes to help you provide that experience to your loved ones.
Avestil da Silva Jr. has lived in the United States for the past 20 years. In November 2020, when the world was still experiencing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, he decided to initiate a new venture – Mercado da Carne (Meat Market).
When asked why a meat market, Jr., as he is known in the Brazilian community, explained that he saw a need for a place that is “clean, organized, with quality products and good customer service to cater to customers’ needs.”
“We work with all different qualities of meat – beef, pork, poultries, and fish. We also offer stuffed meat for holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc., and other special occasions,” said Jr.
Mercado da Carne provides a personalized experience to every customer. “From the most popular Brazilian cuts like Picanha (rump cap), Cupim (beef hump of the Brazilian Zebu cattle), and Alcatra (special cut of top sirloin) to beef brisket, filet mignon, and others, whether you are grilling, roasting, broiling, or smoking, our butchers are ready to provide a custom cut right on the spot,” he said.
A grocery market with Brazilian products and wire transfer services to Brazil and other countries are also available.
“I buy meat in many different places, but I choose to buy here at the Mercado because of the quality of their meat and their customer service. And you can wire money, buy products… I recommend it,” said Marcos Alexandre Gomes, a Danbury resident.
Mercado da Carne offers promotions all year long and a discount program. Delivery is available, and you can access its online store via Instagram at mercadodacarne_supermarket, or https://speedzapp.com/mercadodacarne (Portuguese and Spanish).
They are open Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 9 pm, Saturday from 8 am – 9 pm, and Sunday from 8 am – 5 pm.
“It is a pleasure to provide quality customer service to our community in Danbury and surrounding towns. We started serving the Brazilian community, and now we have customers from all different backgrounds. Visit our store located at 133 South Street in Danbury.
