We may be physically apart, with social and physical distancing in place for the foreseeable future, but AARP Connecticut hasn’t stopped providing valuable information and resources to people of all ages in communities across Connecticut. While convening in-person events and seeing people in communities across the state is a core part of our mission, we have changed our approach in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak from providing information, advocacy and resources in-person to virtually.

Western Connecticut State University Plans to Open Both Campuses for In-Person Classes

Western Connecticut State University is planning to open both campuses for in-person classes at the end of August. The majority of classes will continue to be taught online, or as a mix of online and in-person, but students and professors will be meeting face-to-face every day.

Back to School! We don't know exactly how it will go during a pandemic, but parents will have some extra preparation this year. Before school starts, children need to know about social distancing, frequent hand washing and cleaning surfaces frequently. Masks are a little more complicated but essential for everyone to wear.

Danbury Public Schools’ Reopening Plan: A Family Partnership

Danbury Public School’s Reopening Plan was submitted to the CT Department of Education on Friday, July 24. The plan, as required by the state, outlined three different proposals for returning to school: everyone back in classrooms, a hybrid model and distance learning.
