Our wildly popular Memories to Memoir class returns with writer Beth Young on Tuesdays at 1pm, starting October 1. No experience is necessary. Let Beth help guide you in putting your stories down on paper. It’s a wonderful keepsake for future generations.

We are partnering with the City of Danbury Dept. of Health & Human Services for our annual Flu Clinics. On Thursday, October 3 from 1pm-3pm, we will offer free flu shots with your insurance card. We will also offer them again on Wednesday, October 16 from 9am-11am. It is so important to take care of your health at any age, so come take advantage of this program!

We’re also partnering with Nuvance Health to provide a Fall Prevention workshop on Thursday, October 24. Learn tips and tricks to help your balance and how to make your home safer.

We have a brand-new weekly class joining our roster of health and wellness programs – Broadway Burn. Taught by instructor Matthew Ames, this class is geared toward seniors and includes chair work to achieve the same muscle activation without the need to stabilize as much and to create an even lower impact class. It is dance meets exercise! The class incorporates Broadway jazz and musical theater patterns in an easy-to-follow workout set to your favorite show tunes from television, movies, and of course Broadway. Join us for some fun!

Once again in October we will be partnering with The New American Dream Foundation for a cultural celebration on Tuesday, October 15. This month’s celebration will focus on Ireland. Come enjoy traditional Irish foods, hear Irish music, and have a fun afternoon. Seating is VERY limited for this event, so please call to reserve your spot as soon as possible, before it books up.

Later in October, we have a musical performance from students of the Western Connecticut State University music department. They will bring a steel drum calypso concert to us on Wednesday, October 23.
