By Tribuna Staff

The world famous five-time all-star center fielder for the New York Yankees turned musician, Bernie Williams, is back at the Ridgefield Playhouse for the 9th Annual Bernie Williams Day Celebrity Softball Game.

Bernie Williams started his sixteen-year major league career in 1991 with the Yankees and ended it in 2007. He managed to have an incredible career, winning four World Series titles. In 2015, the New York Yankees retired Bernie’s uniform number 51 in honor and in celebration of his accomplishments as a Yankee.

In July of 2011, Bernie released his book, Rhythms of the Game: The Link Between Music and Athletic Performance. In his book, he discussed the relationship between music and baseball, and how they connect to each other.

Not only does Bernie have a passion for baseball and music, but he is also the spokesperson for the NAMM Foundation’s SupportMusic Coalition.

The four-time Golden Glove Award winner and 1996 ALCS MVP brings special guests Doc Gooden, Stephon Marbury, Sweeny Murti, Jim Leyritz, and more on Saturday, September 6.

The event takes place outside on Governor's Park field, next to the Ridgefield Playhouse. Come on down and enjoy a day full of fun activities, refreshments, and an unforgettable ball game. Get your tickets at https://ridgefieldplayhouse.org or by calling the Box Office at 203-438-5795.
