Danbury Farmers’ Market Will Open on Saturday, June 24

Danbury Farmers Market is back, on the Danbury CityCenter Green, Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., from June 24 through October 28, featuring the best local produce, fish, eggs, honey, jams, flowers, bread, granola, and much more.

Lots of new vendors are joining us this year, including those selling fish, microgreens, and many crafts. 

Complimentary two-hour parking is available at the Patriot Garage, right next to the market spot. 

This year, to celebrate our Opening Day, Mayor Dean Esposito will ring the opening bell at 10:15 a.m., along with Congressmember Jahana Hayes, State Senator Julie Kushner, and State Representative Bob Godfrey.

A great lineup of activities is set: 

-Family Fun Zone – Balloon Twister with Macaroni KID from 11 am – 1 p.m.

-Live Music - 11 am – 1 p.m.

-Food/Nutrition Demo - 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

-RVNAhealth – 10 a.m. -12 p.m. - Free Health screenings for anemia, glucose, and blood pressure. 

-HARTransit – Insulated Bag giveaway – first 100 people to arrive

-Produce Hunt for the kids with bubbles prize

Food Rescue US, our new community partner, will rescue unsold food each week and bring it to Kimberly Place Apartments, a great community providing subsidized housing.

In its thirteenth year, the CityCenter Danbury Farmers’ Market, a project of the Danbury Farmers’ Market Community Collaborative, with 35 community stakeholders, continues its nutrition-in-action program with the mission: “Better Food for Better Health.”

Many nutrition incentive programs are offered at the market, with generous support from the Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, End Hunger Connecticut!’s CT Fresh Match Program and many other local businesses and organizations.   

  • CT SNAP Match (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) formerly “food stamps,” accepted and matched at any dollar amount.
  • Double Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) cards for limited asset

seniors and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) recipients

  • Live market food/nutrition demos with market cash incentive gift. Limited spots, so sign up early. 
  • Veterans (with vet ID) receive $10 in market’s produce certificates each market.
  • HARTransit free bus passes. 

In addition to the Saturday market, a satellite market will be held monthly at the Danbury Senior Center 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month - 7/19, 8/16, 9/20, and 10/18.
