The I-84 Danbury Study is a CTDOT initiative improve the mobility of people and goods in the I-84 corridor in greater Danbury. The study team is looking to engage with residents, business owners, and the traveling public on the concepts.  The in-person public meeting will take place on:

- Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 5:30 - 8 PM at Western Connecticut State University, Student Center, Room 202, at 181 White Street, Danbury.

Meeting information can be found at www.i84danbury.com/upcoming-meetings/.

The I-84 Danbury Study seeks to make improvements to I-84 from the New York – Connecticut state line to Interchange 8 in Danbury. It also includes the connections to Route 7 at Interchanges 3 and 7. I-84, which was built in the 1960s, experiences increasing congestion felt by residents, businesses, and visitors. Improving safety and access and reducing congestion on this section of I-84 will have positive effects for commerce in the city, region, and state.

The public meeting will begin at 5:30 PM and will be an open house format where the study team will display conceptual plans and information about the study. At this time, the team will be available to speak with attendees and offer information about the process and the solution-based concepts.  The study team will give a short presentation at 6:30 PM. The meeting will conclude with a question-and-answer session, where attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and / or offer comments regarding the study.

A recording of the meeting will be posted to the project website after the meeting at www.i84danbury.com/course_cat/past-events/.

The I-84 Danbury Study is now in the Planning and Environment (PEL) Linkages study phase. This study follows Federal Highway Administration guidance and will soon transition from its long-range planning phase to the upcoming environmental review process by assessing local conditions and developing alternatives. CTDOT may adopt or incorporate planning products from this PEL Study into a federal or state environmental review process, pursuant to Title 23 U.S.C to Title 23 U.S.C. § 168(d)(4).
