Summer may be winding down, but programs at the Elmwood Hall Danbury Senior Center continue to educate and entertain daily. In addition to our regular daily programming, which includes exercise classes, art classes, dance and more, we have some amazing special programming coming over the next month.

Our summer Food Truck Tuesdays start to wrap up for 2026. On Tuesday, August 4, we welcome back the Greek Style Grill truck for some traditional Greek delicacies. Grab a Gyro or a pita sandwich and join us! On Tuesday, August 11, we welcome back Nomad Bites. Come join us for a burger or sandwich. This delicious food truck offers something for everyone. We finish our Food Truck Tuesdays with Taco Road Trip. Voted best Taco & Burrito Food Truck by CT Magazine, this will be one not to miss!

If healthier food is your thing, we will continue our mobile farmer’s market on the second Wednesday of every month from 1-3pm. Clatter Valley Farm in New Milford will bring their farm stand to Elmwood Hall complete with fresh veggies and other treats to purchase.

We’re adding a new monthly program to help with stress and relaxation – a sound bath & meditation workshop. These will be on the second Monday of every month from 1:30 - 2:30pm.  Join sound vibration therapy practitioner Jeanine Chayka of Inspired Vibration by JC for this introduction to Sound Bath Healing. Jeanine will offer a short introduction to the principles and practices of sound healing, then lead participants on a guided meditation focused on pain relief, using tuning forks, drums, singing bowls, and other instruments. There is no physical contact during this program.

Our Coffeehouse music series continues on Friday, August 28, with a Miles Davis 100th Birthday Tribute from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Join us for the return of our popular coffeehouse concert series. Come relax and socialize in an intimate environment as we enjoy coffee and other treats, all while listening to the music of trumpeter Wayne Tucker. Tucker will present a series of songs celebrating Miles Davis in honor of what would have been his 100th birthday. This program is presented in partnership with the Danbury Cultural Commission.

If you are a driver over 60, mark your calendars for our annual AARP Smart Driver Course on Wednesday September 9, from 9am-1pm. Refresh your driving skills, and you may save on your car insurance (please verify your discount with your insurance carrier).
