All aboard for fall fun! The Danbury Railway Museum invites you to celebrate the harvest season with a festive ride on the “Husking Bee” Pumpkin Patch Train. There’s no better way to welcome the crisp autumn air than with a 20-minute round-trip ride through the historic rail yard in a vintage 1920s passenger coach.
This beloved family event takes place October 11–12, 18–19, and 25–26, starting at 10:00 AM each day. Trains depart at 11:00 AM, 12 noon, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. On Saturday evenings, don’t miss the magical Twilight Train at 6:30 PM, featuring special pumpkin patch activities under the stars. Plus, the Storytime Express is back—catch it on the 11:00 AM Saturday departures!
What’s Included:
- A scenic train ride pulled by a 77-year-old ALCo RS-1 diesel-electric locomotive (or another vintage engine, depending on availability).
- A stop at the museum’s pumpkin patch, where every guest picks a free pumpkin.

- A spooky return of the ever-popular Haunted Caboose—enter if you dare!
Back at the museum, explore fascinating exhibits, artifacts, and model train layouts inside the beautifully restored 1903 Danbury station. Out in the rail yard, climb aboard real railroad cars and locomotives, and browse the fully stocked gift shop for unique finds.

The Danbury Railway Museum is a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers, dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of railroads.
