Housatonic Habitat for Humanity’s Danbury ReStore is kicking off the holiday season with its “Very Merry Holiday Preview Market,” on Monday, November 6, from 6-8:30 pm at the store on 51 Austin Street, Danbury.

This annual “Sip and Shop” event offers shoppers the chance to enjoy a festive holiday experience and support Housatonic Habitat at the same time.

“We have been saving our holiday décor all year long,” says ReStore Manager April Van der Noll. “We had enough to fill up two large trailers! Our volunteers have been sorting and pricing the donations since July and we are finally ready to get the show started! Shoppers at our Sip and Shop event get first dibs on all the wonderful holiday items we have collected.” Selections include lighting, vintage ornaments, Christmas trees, new and gently used holiday décor, holiday linen and dishes, vintage sleds, toys, holiday wreaths, and more.

Tickets for the event are $25 and will include light bites and drinks, live entertainment, raffle prizes, and a chance to win a $100 ReStore gift card. Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite, under Danbury ReStore.

All proceeds from the event including ticket sales will benefit Habitat’s “Aging in Place” program, which offers free home repairs to senior citizens and Veterans on fixed incomes.

Donations of holiday items are still being accepted and can be dropped off at the ReStore at 51 Austin Street, Danbury, Tuesday-Saturday 10 am to 3 pm.
