Goldstone Caregiver Center Marks 10 Years with Special Symposium
The symposium’s keynote speaker will be Sandeep Jauhar, MD, PhD, a Northwell Health cardiologist and acclaimed author of My Father’s Brain: Life in the Shadow of Alzheimer’s.
Danbury Hospital’s Goldstone Caregiver Center will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a Caregiver Symposium on Tuesday, November 12, 2025, honoring National Family Caregivers Month. The event will take place in the Creasy Auditorium and feature an inspiring program to recognize and support caregivers in the community.
The symposium’s keynote speaker will be Sandeep Jauhar, MD, PhD, a Northwell Health cardiologist and acclaimed author of My Father’s Brain: Life in the Shadow of Alzheimer’s. In his presentation, Dr. Jauhar will share his deeply personal experience navigating his father’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease while exploring the scientific and emotional aspects of caregiving for a loved one.
Award-winning actor James Naughton will join Dr. Jauhar to moderate a Q&A session following the keynote, offering the audience an opportunity for engaging discussion.
After the program, attendees will receive a complimentary signed copy of Dr. Jauhar’s book. The first 100 participants that register will be guaranteed a signed copy.
The celebration will also feature the Caregiver Resource Suite, where Danbury Hospital departments and local community organizations will provide information, support, and resources for caregivers. Representatives will be available to answer questions and connect attendees with helpful programs and services, including those related to Connecticut Paid Leave—an important benefit that many caregivers may not fully understand or know how to access.
The event schedule is as follows:
- 9:30–10:30 a.m. – Registration and light refreshments in front of the Goldstone Caregiver Center, located in the main lobby of the Buck Pavilion.
- 10:30–11 a.m. – Opening remarks in the Creasy Auditorium.
