SCORE Western Connecticut invites professionals with a passion for business and a desire to guide emerging entrepreneurs to join our mentorship program. As a mentor, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the region’s economic landscape by fostering growth, innovation, and resilience among small businesses.

In the past year alone, our mentors have been instrumental in launching 62 new businesses and creating 123 jobs, underscoring the vital role mentorship plays in economic development. Through over 1,000 chapter services, including one-on-one mentoring sessions, workshops, and webinars, SCORE Western Connecticut has provided invaluable support to local entrepreneurs, helping 90 percent of our “in business” clients remain operational and enabling 55 percent to increase their revenue.

But our mission extends beyond numbers. At SCORE, we cherish the diversity of our mentor and client base, serving a wide array of industries and backgrounds. This commitment to inclusivity ensures that our services reach all corners of the community, giving every entrepreneur the chance to succeed. Our small business client mix is very diverse - we take pride in the fact that almost half of the small businesses we work with are owned by minorities, over 60 percent are owned by women, and 10 percent are owned by veterans. The questions we receive from small business owners range from the very basic to the complex. While the initial inquiry sometimes leads to an ongoing mentorship, at other times, they seek assistance with just a single issue.
