Danbury Probate Judge, hon. Dianne E. Yamin, was elected president elect of the National College of Probate Judges by her peers at the NCPJ fall conference in Savannah, Georgia on November 11, 2021.

The National College of Probate Judges is the only national organization exclusively dedicated to improving probate law and probate courts.

Judges across the nation discussed and focused on not only the effects of the covid-19 on court processes, but also the impact on courts with probate and conservator jurisdiction of increases in the size of the older population, the opioid epidemic, and increased incidence of mental illness cases.

According to NCPJ president elect, hon. Dianne e. Yamin, “judges and court administrators must be responsive to the changing environmental factors in our jurisdictions, and benefit greatly from sharing best practices and sharing strategies.”

Yamin has been the Probate Judge for the district of Danbury since 1990.
